• Tie off the thread at the back with a small knot or
locking stitch.
• Trim excess thread neatly.
• Remove the hoop/frame and gently press with a warm
iron on the reverse side using a cloth.

Step 5: Add leaves and stem
• Use stem stitch or tanka for the flower’s stem.
• For leaves, use the same satin stitch or a variation
like tepchi (long running stitch in Sozni).
• Outline the leaf with a fine backstitch for clarity.
TASK 2: Practice embroidering (badaam) paisley
1 Insert the needle from the top of the paisley design Fig 3
from any point. (Fig 1)

4 Start doing secondary work with other color thread
and with the back stitch. (Fig 4)

2 Start stitching with the back stitch but the thread
should be kept on the right side of your right hand.

5 Complete the same process with the back stitch.
